Abstract:
|
In this paper we show how multiple specialized simulators can be
interlinked at runtime to perform realistic simulations for vehicular
ad-hoc networks. We combine a network simulator (ns-2), a traffic
simulator (VISSIM), and an application level simulator
(Matlab/Simulink) to enable the analysis of applications where
pre-calculated traces of vehicular movement patterns or predefined
communication traces are insufficient. One prominent example for this
kind of application is the transmission of emergency warnings. We
present the basic idea of the architecture, show how we have
implemented it, and discuss performance issues. Finally, we
demonstrate the application of the environment to the analysis of a
simple emergency warning application.
